Our enthusiastic tour guide will be waiting for you at Tirana International Airport for a warm welcome. Afterwards you will be transported to a seaside hotel in the coastal city of Durres (approx. 40min from the airport).

In the afternoon you will partecipate in a guided tour of the city. You will visit Durres Amphitheatre, the largest Roman amphitheatre ever built in the Balkan Peninsula. It was used for gladiator fights and other events,  estimated to once having a capacity of 20,000 people. You can explore the ruins and get a sense of what it was like to attend an event there.

The journey will continue in exploring The Castle of Durres, which dates back to the Byzantine period and was later used by the Venetians and Ottomans.

Kruja feels like stepping back in time, with its medieval castle, bustling bazaar, and rich Albanian history. We start the tour at the Kruja Castle, home to the Skanderbeg Museum, dedicated to Albania’s national hero. Afterwards we visit the Ethnographic Museum for insights into traditional life. You will then have some free time to stroll through the Old Bazaar, where you can buy handmade crafts, carpets, and antiques. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant with traditional meals.

In the afternoon, we start the journey towards Berat, which will be our stop for the night.

The city of “one above one” windows, also famously known for hosting a UNESCO heritage site. We will start the morning with a walk through the narrow streets of the old city and climb up the hill to visit the city castle. Berat Castle dates back to the 4th century BC, and its walls are still largely intact. You can walk along the walls and get stunning views of the city and surrounding landscape.

Lunch will be served at a traditional restaurant with Tomorri mountain view. Here you will have the opportunity to partecipate in a wine tasting event.

The journey will continue in the Albanian Riviera, offering breathtaking turquoise waters, pristine beaches, and a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Places expected to visit: Vlore, National Park of Llogara, Dhermi, Porto Palermo, Himare.

We leave early in the morning towards the southern coastal city of Saranda, where the highlight of the tour will be the visit to Butrint National Archaeological Park, an open-air time capsule, where ancient ruins reveal layers of Greek, Roman, and Byzantine history.

Lunch in Ksamil, in a seaside restaurant. Free time by the beach.

In the late afternoon we start the journey towards Gjirokaster, which will be our stop for the night.

A day to remember in Gjirokastër, the charming “city of stone”, with its Ottoman-era houses, the hilltop castle and the bustling Old Bazaar.

Our first stop will be at Gjirokastra Castle, also known as the Fortress of Gjirokastra, and is one of the most iconic landmarks in the city of Gjirokastra. The castle dates back to the 12th century and has been an important military fortification for centuries.

Our walking tour continues through the narrow streets of the old city until reaching Skenduli House, a well-preserved example of an Ottoman-era house located in the historic city of Gjirokastra. It is one of the most famous and visited houses in Gjirokastra due to its unique architecture and rich history. Skenduli House has been inhabited by the same family for over 300 years, and the current owners are the ninth generation of Skenduli family.

After finishing our cultural and very enjoyable walking tour, is time for a delicious lunch, serving traditional food based on old recipies of the city.

Afternoon and evening will be free for you. We suggest to spend the evening in the Old Bazaar of Gjirokastra, a wonderful way to experience the city's vibrant atmosphere and unique culture.

The Old Bazaar is known for its traditional crafts and handmade products. You can find shops selling everything from handmade jewelry to hand-woven rugs and traditional Albanian clothing.

On our way back from Gjirokaster to Tirana, we will drive through the scenic Vjosa River, Europe's last wild river, where untamed waters flow through breathtaking canyons and lush landscapes. Next stop will be a visit to Apollonia Archeological Park, one of Albania’s most significant ancient sites.

The tour concludes with the capital city, Tirana, where you will travel in history from the bunker transferred into a museum to the new modern buildings.
